Safe with my dad

How many times have we taken a certain course of action because we feared what someone else would think? The approval of others is so important that some may compromise their convictions to be accepted. That ties into man’s greatest fear, which is rejection. The only thing that can help us out of that dilemma is realizing our position in Christ, our Savior. If you have been born again into God’s family, you are now and forever will be a child of God.
When I was a small child, Daddy would occasionally take us to town with him on Saturdays. It was a small country town, yet to me, it felt like a huge, bustling city. It was an awesome experience to cross the street, but I felt secure if I could hold onto Daddy’s finger. His hands were so big; I could only grip my hand around one of his fingers as we crossed the street. I was never afraid of anything or anyone when my Dad was nearby. And what others thought of me didn’t matter in the least.
In childlike faith, we should be confident in the care of our Heavenly Father. In Psalm 46:1, the Bible declares, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”.
Psalm 27:1 gives us a powerful word about our fears. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” We don’t hold on to God’s finger. He has us in His hand! Jesus said no one could pluck us out of His hand.
