Feeling Insecure?

Listening to newscasts, reading the daily newspaper, or tuning into social media does not promote a feeling of security. Society says right is wrong; wrong is accepted, encouraged, and glorified. Moral decline and materialism are seeping into every facet of life.

This situation can blur our vision, cloud our minds, and distract us from the truth. As a result, we become occupied with ourselves and the world around us instead of the spiritual reality. The temptation to doubt, fear, question God, and feel everything but secure is real. When we find ourselves in this position, it is TIME TO REMEMBER.

It's time to remember who our God is. He is the sovereign ruler over everything in heaven and on earth, including Satan, who can only go as far as God allows. The life of Job is a good illustration of this fact. Our Lord is unchanging, and this is a powerful and comforting truth. The One who created the universe parted the Red Sea, stopped raging storms with a word, healed the sick, and resurrected the dead is our God TODAY. His power and authority have not changed.

It is time to remember who we are. If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, then you are a saint, a child of God, indwelt with the Holy Spirit. Christ lives in you, and you have all His power available to help you. There is no need to be afraid, discouraged, or full of anxiety. "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world" (1Jn. 4:4). We are secure in the love and care of Christ, and nothing can ever separate us from Him (Romans 8:37-39).

It is time to remember why we are here. We are here for one reason: to do the will of the Lord. Under the leadership of Satan, the world works to direct our attention to ourselves, appeal to our fleshly desires, and distract us from our mission. We are soldiers of Christ and are meant to do battle in this spiritual war. In a physical battle, soldiers don't allow their weapons to gather dust, stop listening to their commander's orders, make friends with the enemy, or leave their protective gear in camp.

This world situation will worsen, and the spiritual war will intensify until the Lord takes all His children home. We should not be surprised. Jesus told us we would have tribulation, that the world would hate us as it hated Him, and that sin would increase.

Let us not be overwhelmed by this world situation but strive to RE

MEMBER who our Lord is, who we are, and why we are here. Let us polish our shields of faith, sharpen our swords of God's word, and fight the good fight of faith in His power. Our Lord won the victory. Our mission is to fight the battle, not cower in defeat and fear.

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:57-58 KJV).

"Nay , in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us" (Rom. 8:37 KJV).
